Ushering The Year Of The Ox.

I would like to wish all my friends and colleagues as well as business partners and associates a very happy and prosperous Happy Chinese New Year. As what I heard last night from Mr Lee Liam Chye, CEO of Perdana ParkCity, he had said that instead of prosperous, the word here should be 'merciful' Chinese New Year.

The Year of the Rat, or rather, Year of the Half-dead Rat of 2008 has been a very eventful year for the world. Take the subprime crisis, add that to the financial crisis suffered by the banks and insurance corporations worldwide, and then taking the auto industry in mind, the collapse of countless super huge corporations, and who can forget our March 8th elections - the year of the Rat seems like a year that everyone would love to forget and knock off their minds as they welcome the Year of the Ox.

But the Year of the Ox does not necessarily mean the return of the Bull into the markets. As what most investment bankers have said, the cows(bulls) may not come home in the year of the Ox - but perhaps years later.

Anyways, lets not put too much pressure on ourselves for this coming Chinese New Year. I assure you all out there that this coming new year will be just as eventful as last year, but not necessary better.

Anyways, Gong Xi Fa Chai to all and a Happy New Year!
