Sometimes, we are so focused on what’s next that we forget to appreciate how far we’ve come.
In business, there is always another target.
Another project to secure.
Another problem to solve.
Another quarter to deliver.
Another milestone to chase.
And perhaps that is what keeps us moving forward.
But every now and then, I think it is important to look back — not to celebrate for too long, but to remember the challenges we once thought were impossible, the difficult decisions we had to make, and the people who stood alongside us through them.
Progress rarely feels dramatic when you are living through it.
Most of the time, it is simply showing up every day, making hundreds of small decisions, solving one problem after another, and trying to be slightly better than yesterday.
Then one day, you look back and realise those small steps have taken you much further than you thought.
There will always be a next.
But occasionally, it is worth appreciating the now.
Then we keep building.
